Vabis Försäkringsaktiebolag underwrites customs and excise guarantees, advance payment and retention bonds, trade credit insurance and environmental undertakings for a selected group of principals. Supervised by Finansinspektionen; concession held continuously since 1996.
Each instrument is an insurance contract issued under our concession — a conditional undertaking in favour of a named beneficiary, with recourse to the principal. None is a transferable security, and none is offered to the public.

The wagon works opened in Södertälje in 1891 and gave the town a vocabulary it never lost: tolerances, load ratings, service intervals. Our name is taken from it, and so is the habit behind our underwriting — understand the machine, understand the operator, then price the risk.

Four decades of writing industrial exposures produced an unusually concrete view of what actually goes wrong — on a site, in a fleet, along a bonded supply chain. That judgement is now available to a limited number of external principals.
Tell us who is being bonded, to whom, and for what. A short note is enough for an indication; we will come back with questions rather than a quote if the file needs them.
